This webinar was designed for Aviation English teachers interested in exploring the concept of ‘flipping’ the online classroom. This approach uses both asynchronous (independent study) and synchronous (with the support of a teacher virtually in real time) modes of learning. The presenters discussed creating and assigning asynchronous tasks for students both before and after instructor-led synchronous sessions delivered virtually online.

Over 200 trainers and assessors, curriculum developers, pilots and ATCOs joined the first ICAEA Webinar.
In this repeated webinar, participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, discuss some important concepts, and consider the advantages and challenges of providing English language instruction to aviation professionals and students online. Topics also included various practical and educational considerations for teachers and organisations when moving from face-to-face to online instruction.
