GEIA, the Aeronautical English Research Group sponsored by the Brazilian Department of Airspace Control, is proud to announce the 11th GEIA Seminar.
The event will be online, from November 25 to 29, 2024. Registration opens from October 31 to November 25.
The program includes topics about Aviation Communication and discussions about Aeronautical English as a lingua franca; course and material development and case studies about training; artificial intelligence applied to teaching and testing; interviews with language test providers in different countries and Aviation English documentation.
Our keynote speaker, Elizabeth Mathews from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, will open the event on Monday with the new GEIA research line “Language as Human Factor”. From the same Univerisity, Michael McCormick will share his experience as an air traffic controller in New York City on 9/11 and the communications that happened in those fateful minutes.
