I am contacting you to ask if you would be kind enough to spare 10-15 minutes of your time to complete a research survey I am carrying out. The survey is being undertaken to research ‘language assessment literacy’ of all stakeholders involved in testing or examining English language for pilots and ATCOs in aviation under the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements (LPRs). The link to the survey is: https://lancasteruni.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4Z13Ml90qkPtiaq and it should be completed by 21st January 2022.
A stakeholder is anyone who, in their professional activity, is directly or indirectly involved in the ICAO LPRs. This can be as a test Rater/Assessor, a pilot or an ATCO who is tested, a language teacher, CAA/ANSP focal point, researcher, and so on. Any level of stakeholder involvement is counted as important.
For information, the term Language Assessment Literacy (LAL) simply refers to perceptions, skills and knowledge of the role of language testing that a stakeholder has. It is similar in a way to how the terms computer literacy or media literacy may be used.
The survey aims to provide empirical evidence for a forthcoming publication. All respondents will be treated anonymously, and any personal data given will be treated confidentially under GDPR guidelines. The research is non-lucrative and no author involved will receive remuneration for the forthcoming publication.
If you were also able to forward this to any of your colleagues through mailing lists or groups then this would be very kindly appreciated.
May I take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your help in this research.
